Why I Choose Norwich And A Specialization In Change Management Consulting
I specifically chose the Master of Science and Leadership with the Concentration in Change Management Consulting because as I reviewed what I had done in my work history in the past, some of the things that I found very fulfilling personally and which motivated me at work were attributes that could be directly correlated to the Change Management Consulting Concentration.
So one day I was doing my homework on my lunch break because you have to take advantage of every opportunity you can to get your work done. And my boss came into the room and he said, “What are you doing?” And I said, “Well I’m working on my homework,” and he was like, “Oh, you’re in school?” And I’m like, “Yeah, I’m finishing my Masters.” And he was like, “In what?” And I said, “Leadership,” and he’s like, “Really? You should go talk to the CEO.”
And I was like, “Okay, I have to talk to him anyway because I need to talk to him about my capstone.” I wanted to get on a project so that I could have a practical application to apply in my capstone studies.
And I went and talked to the CEO, whose name is Marco, and told him what I was doing and why. And he came from a consulting background himself and he started asking me a bunch of questions like why I chose this program, what about it appealed to me and what I wanted to do in the future. And I asked if I could get on a project and he said, “Yeah, I definitely want to get you on a project. I’ll get back to you in a couple of weeks.”
Well a couple of weeks went by and he said, “I want you to interview for the Process Change Manager position with the owners of the company.” And I had two interviews with the owners in the course of a couple of months, and I ended up getting the job. And as a result of that I actually doubled my salary, too.
