How is Norwich University accredited?
Norwich University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.

How long is the program?
The coursework is completed in 18 months. The program is structured for three six-month semesters and a one-week on-campus residency in June. Depending on the start date you choose, you will have your degree in 18-24 months. Your Enrollment Advisor will assist you with the enrollment calendar, highlighting the unique benefits of each start date.

How many credits and courses do I take each semester?
You will enroll in two six-credit seminars each semester for a total of 12 credits. Each seminar lasts approximately 11 weeks. There are three semesters accounting for a total of 36 credits.

Do you grant credit for certification or work experience?
You may be eligible for a seminar waiver with certification depending upon the program.

What financial aid options are available?
US Citizens and permanent residents have full access to Federal Financial Aid. The online application through FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) can be completed within an hour and signed digitally with your PIN. Many students borrow the unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan (regardless of income level). Once your FAFSA application is completed, our Bursar's office will do the rest. Students are always encouraged to seek tuition assistance from their employers first and coordinate the balance with financial aid. For some programs, we also accept VA Benefits such as the Montgomery GI Bill as tuition payment. See Financial Aid for most current information.

What does an average week look like for a student enrolled in an online graduate program at Norwich University?
This program is designed for the working professional who must balance the demands of work, home, and study. A typical student spends an average of 20 hours per week on class work and they creatively carve out that time by studying after the kids are in bed, before the family gets up, in those few spare moments at the office, during downtime in an airport. Your instructor and your Assistant Director will help keep you on track. Students also find their cohort is a tremendous source of support in managing their time and studies. Norwich believes in a community of support that works together to make each student a successful student.

Special situations are accommodated on a case-by-case basis. The linear and progressive nature of the coursework is a vital component of the program. Administrative support will work with you to find a solution that accommodates your situation and maintains the integrity of your graduate studies.
